The British boxer prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight round fight which will be shown live on Netflix.
Briton Joshua declared he will "stamp all over" the American and "overpower" his opponent as the pair confronted each other to publicize the upcoming boxing match.
Ex twice unified heavyweight champion Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a mammoth uneven pairing - at Miami's arena on December 19th.
Fighter's Mindset
"I plan to damage his features and damage his physique. My goal is to show I'm superior," Joshua, 35, stated.
"I will dominate him completely. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I intend to genuinely try to cause him pain. That's what I want to do."
Respectful Exchange
Despite such comments, a relaxed Joshua and internet personality Paul - usually recognized for his showmanship - shared friendly words and remained civil with each other.
Paul instead attacked ex Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and described him as "not serious" after Ngannou rejected a match opportunity.
Taking Aim at Tyson Fury
Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, targeted British rival Fury - and refused a large bet 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a Paul win.
"Jake Paul is better than Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer stated.
"I acknowledge that."
Legitimate Fighter
In spite of declaring he will punish Paul, Joshua refused to speak negatively about his opponent's fighting skills.
"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he stated.
Jake Paul's History
Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has mainly fought MMA fighters or declining opponents since becoming pro.
He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.
Commercial Attraction
However, the inexperienced fighter is still one of boxing's greatest financial successes, regularly earning huge earnings.
Forecast and Belief
The 28 year old forecast a knockout win in the fourth or fifth round and asserted he would prevent the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly in the works for 2026.
"It's going to be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul said.
Size Disparity
As both boxers met for the traditional stare-down, with their height and weight contrast evident, it drove home just how unlikely this complete situation is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is truly happening.
